WATERFALLS

More than relaxing in the icy waters and currents of a waterfall, getting to them is a real adventure. A tour that can not miss in your itinerary of a trip to our beautiful coast. Here are some waterfalls that we indicate to our guests:

RIBEIRÃO DO ITU WATERFALL

Degree of difficulty: Medium

• Total extension: 1.2 km (first waterfall), approximately 1.5 km (second waterfall); 2 km (third waterfall)

• Average time of the route: 30 min (first waterfall) and 50 min (second waterfall). 

The waterfalls are located in the neighborhood of Boiçucanga towards Serra do Mar, the transformation of the landscape is evident when we approach the beginning of the trail, which has parking and bathroom.  
The ecotourist already begins the trail with adventure, crossing the small river of Ribeirão de Itu and entering the trail in the middle of the forest that mixes with the riparian forest of the river, providing a natural environment rich in species and high humidity. The trail follows a comfortable pace without very steep stretches, overcoming natural obstacles such as fallen trees, huge tree roots and eventually encountering local residents, such as a few small mammals, countless amphibians, colorful birds and ancient trees with Guanandí and the Jequitibá.  The effort of the trail is offset by the lush vegetation and the beautiful waterfalls and natural pools that the Ribeirao de Itu offers visitors along its route. 

 

SERTÃO DO CACAU WATERFALL

• Degree of difficulty: Medium;

• Distance: 1 km (first waterfall) and 1.3 km (second waterfall) approximately;

• Average time of the route: 30 min (first waterfall) and 1 hr (second waterfall). 

The waterfalls are located deep in the neighborhood of Sertão de Camburi towards Serra do Mar within a forest that represents very well the exuberance of the Atlantic Forest.The waterfalls are located deep in the neighborhood of Sertão de Camburi towards Serra do Mar within a forest that represents very well the exuberance of the Atlantic Forest.This trail is little known and inserted in the interior of the forest, has its route in the middle in dense vegetation and its route is easy to be traveled, being great for trekking, passes through countless potions, whirlpools, waterfalls and Figueiras-brown giant with more than 12 meters well in the middle of the way. The final destinations found along the entire course are natural pools of crystal clear water with large waterfalls in the background and surrounded by forest, great for swimming and enjoy the incredible feeling of being in a place preserved with a responsible company.

BARRA DO UNA WATERFALL

• Degree of difficulty: Medium;

 

• Distance: 2 km (first waterfall) and 2,5 km (second waterfall) approximately;

 

• Average time of the route: 40 min (first waterfall) and 1 hr (second waterfall).    

 

Located in the backlands of the Barra do Una, a few kilometers towards the mountains are the rapids of the rivers that form the River Una, which has all its exuberance down the forest through giant rocks, big water wells and small waterfalls. It is one of the most preserved regions of São Sebastião, concentrating the largest biodiversity of amphibians in the world, in a forest that is the richest of all  being thus a perfect way to the contemplation of nature safely and with adventure. The trail is spacious and starts very quiet, with no exaggerated climbs or descents, being great for the general public, always following the river that offers many points to enjoy, such as the various water wells After a relaxing 40-minute walk, we arrive at Cachoeira do Chuveiro, with 2 waterfalls where we can enter underneath and feel all the energy involved, not to mention the landscape of the place. Following another 20 minutes on the trail we arrive at the breathtaking place with the Waterfall of the Escorrega, where the vegetation of the space for the great river that passes over the gigantic rocks, forming a great slide that falls in the lake.
